Bozoun/Bozoan Allen,RN6875, of King’s Lynn, Norfolk,Eg, came to New England with his wife Anne (–),RN6874 and two servants in 1938. They came aboard the ship “Dlligent”, John Martin Master, which sailed from Ipswich, Suffolk in June and arrived at Boston on 10 August. They settled in Hingham. Bezoun, a prosperous mercer, was a freeman 2 June 1641, a Captain in the Militia, a town officer and deputy for many years. They eventually removed to Boston. Bozoun’s will is dated 9 Sept 1652; he died five days later.
His degree of prosperity is reflected in his inventory; taken by Edward Hutchinson and Joseph Rocke on 22 Sept 1652, it listed 286 persons located in many nearby towns who owed him money plus land holdings in England.
Bozoun’s widow Anne remarried Jospeh Jewett of Rowley on 13 Mar 1653 and died 4 Feb 1661.
